ADD-ers absolutely looooove variety. So much variety, in fact, that they sometimes have trouble staying on track with projects (it's so hard to choose just ONE thing to work on at a time!).
During coaching, we'll work together to prioritize the many, many things on your To-Do list, then zero in on the most important ones. Gradually, you'll discover what works best for you and celebrate your newfound success and accomplishment!
A lot of ADD-ers consider STRUCTURE a four-letter word!
But with a framework that we design to fit YOU, you'll soon be able to trust yourself to finish projects, keep your desk clear, get to work on time, live happily ever after (well, maybe that's a little TOO much to promise, but things WILL start to fall into place!)
No, not that awful demanding kind of "toe the line" accountability you hate so much.
Linda-the-coach is not here to hassle you when lose the car keys. Instead, we'll set up realistic goals each week. There may be specific requests made during the coaching session. The next session, we check in about how those requests worked ... or didn't work.
Then we make adjustments in the requests. Or figure out a better way to make it work for YOU. Coaching is here to help you SUCCEED!
It's easy to get so caught up in the details that weeks, months, years go by and suddenly, the things you always planned to do are still distant dreams.
We'll hammer out a plan, attach some short and long term goals to it and insert it into the "uniquely yours" structure and accountability we've set up.
Linda has years of experience with ADHD and ADD. She stays current on the latest research and has access to a wide range of ADD/ADHD resources available throughout the US and Canada.
You'll be able to draw on those resources throughout your coaching experience.
It's time to let go of feeling (secretly or not-so-secretly) that you are a failure. That you've disappointed the important people in your life (especially YOU). That you keep trying but nothing works out the way you planned.
ADD Coaching looks for the BEST in you during every session...and we FIND IT!
There are always things to celebrate about you and your progress. Linda is your staunchest ally and fiercest supporter. You simply cannot do anything "wrong" during coaching.
It's not about using sheer willpower to "stop procrastinating and get it done." If white-knuckling worked, you wouldn't need coaching (PS it NEVER works except for brief, uncomfortable periods of time).
It's not a cure for ADD; you will still have the same "brain wiring" after coaching as you did before coaching.
It's not effective if you're not ready; when you say YES to coaching...and yourself, then coaching will succeed.
It's not a quick fix. It took a long time for you to figure out your current coping strategies for ADD (those that work and those that don't) and it will take time to discover and implement new ones.
